50-hour and 100-hour servicing and repairs are carried out in our workshop.
After every flight
Cleaning: Remove grass, dirt and insect remains from the propeller and propeller guard. Visual inspection: Check the entire frame for cracks, especially at the weld seams. Check all screws and rivets for tightness. Propeller check: Carefully examine the propeller for hairline cracks, chips and damage. A damaged propeller is life-threatening and must be replaced immediately! Guard: Check the stability and that all connections are secure. Engine maintenance This is the most complex part. The intervals depend on the operating hours. After each landing (post-flight check) Visual inspection: Check for obvious damage, loose cables, cracks in the intake hose or exhaust. Vibration check: Feel whether all screws (especially the engine mounts) are tight. Vibrations can loosen them. Fuel system: Check for leaks in the tank, lines and carburettor.
Every 10-25 operating hours (weekly for intensive flight operation)
Spark plug: Clean, check electrode gap (approx. 0.5-0.6 mm) and replace if necessary. A dry black plug indicates a good mixture, an oily black plug indicates too much oil. Air filter: Clean! foam filter. Wash with warm water and washing-up liquid, leave to dry and re-oil if necessary (if it is an oiled filter). Fuel filter: The small filter in the tank or in the line should be checked for deposits. Carburettor: If there is a loss of power or starting problems, synchronise the carburettor (on two-cylinder engines) and check the idle setting.
